Setting permissions

Permissions can be set at either the defaults, company, department or user level.

Permissions can be set either by using one of the permission templates or by manually setting the individual permissions.

Note: NetSupport ServiceDesk provides a selection of pre-defined permission templates but you can also create your own templates.

When setting the permissions manually each permission can be set to one of three states.

Empty white box. The permission is not set.

White box with a black tick. The permission is set.

Grey box with a grey tick. or Empty grey box. The permission is being inherited.

To set permissions using a template:

  1. Select the Admin tab and click the Users icon in the toolbar.

  2. In the Tree view, select the company, department or individual user to assign permissions to.

  3. Select the Permissions tab.

  4. Select the template containing the required permissions or enable/disable individual options as required.

  5. Click Save to apply the permissions.

To set permissions manually:

  1. Select the Admin tab and click the Users icon in the toolbar.

  2. In the Tree view, select the company, department or individual user to assign permissions to.

  3. Select the Permissions tab.

  4. Set the required permissions.

  5. Click Save to apply the permissions.
