Report folder permissions

If you need to restrict access to certain report folders, this can be done by changing the permissions on the report folder. By default, the Everyone group has permissions to all folders. To secure a folder, you must add a company, department or user to the folder permissions and remove the Everyone group.

Note: If a user has the permission to edit reports, then that user will be able to see all report folders, irrespective of any defined report permissions.

To set folder permissions

  1. Select the Reports tab and click the Explore icon in the toolbar.

  2. Select the required folder from the folder list.

  3. Click the Permissions icon on the toolbar to display the permissions for the folder.

  4. Click Add to select the company, department or user that can access the folder and click OK.

  5. If required, remove the Everyone group from the list.

  6. Once you have set the required permissions, click OK to save the changes.
