DB Options
The Database Options page allows an Administrator to change the properties that define where the NetSupport ServiceDesk Database is stored.
In addition, if you have purchased the NetSupport DNA Inventory module, you will need to enable the gathering of Inventory data and specify the Data Source name.
Helpdesk Database Options
Database Server
This is the name or IP address of the SQL or MSDE Database Server that holds the NetSupport ServiceDesk Database. The default setting for this option is set during the installation of NetSupport ServiceDesk.
Database Name
This is the name of the NetSupport ServiceDesk Database on the SQL Server. The default setting for this option is set during the installation of NetSupport ServiceDesk.
Username
This is the user name that is used by the NetSupport ServiceDesk application to access the NetSupport ServiceDesk Database.
Password
The password for the above user.
Provider
Select the SQL Server provider from the drop-down list.
Inventory Database Options
Use DNA for Inventory Data
When this option is selected, the Inventory Data from NetSupport DNA can be displayed on an item on NetSupport ServiceDesk. If NetSupport ServiceDesk is installed on the same machine as NetSupport DNA, this option is set on installation.
DataSource Name
This is the name of a System ODBC Data source that is used by NetSupport ServiceDesk to read the inventory information. If NetSupport ServiceDesk is installed on the same machine as NetSupport DNA, an ODBC Datasource named 'DNAInventory' is created during installation of NetSupport ServiceDesk. Otherwise, this Data source must be created manually.
Username
The user name used in NetSupport DNA Datasource.
Password
The password for the above user.
File Library Options
File Library Location
This is the location where any files that are added to an item are stored. By default, this is set to the data folder in the NetSupport ServiceDesk installation folder. If this location is changed, then any files in the existing location are copied to the new location.
